I am often seen doing talks and seminars on key ingredients of successful people. Here are a few key ingredients to avoid at all costs. We can all probably associate ourselves with some of these, but I guess the question is how much and how many of these ingredients do you have. It may just be the answer you were looking for.
To celebrate this special date (and one of my favourite numbers) here are my 12 traits that I have regularly seen in the successful business owners that I have had the pleasure and privilege to work with over the years.
1. Do what you enjoy.
What you get out of your business in the form of personal satisfaction, financial gain, stability and enjoyment will be the sum of what you put into your business. So if you don't enjoy what you're doing, in all likelihood it's safe to assume that will be reflected in the success of your business--or subsequent lack of success. In fact, if you don't enjoy what you're doing, chances are you won't succeed.
In my experience, I am convinced that techniques and methods of sales are teachable to anyone who has the desire to learn. However, there are a few natural skills that are of great benefit if they already exist within those that want to be successful in sales. Without these, success will take a longer time but it can still be achieved. If there is no desire and dedication to learning or developing these skills, then the selling will be much more difficult and often very stressful.
I have recently been speaking and writing about the winners mindset. Having the right attitude/mindset in life and business is fundamentally more important than things like knowledge or your actions.
